Lawyers on Demand (LOD), a Consilio company, is assisting a law firm in seeking a Briefing Attorney – Wage & Hour to join their team on a fully remote, long-term engagement. This role offers the opportunity to support complex, high-volume litigation matters, with potential for permanent conversion for candidates based in Houston.

Duration: 6+ months (with potential for temp-to-perm for Houston-based candidates)
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Location: Fully remote (must be Houston-based for permanent consideration)
Pay Rate: Starting at $85/hour, commensurate with experience
Position Overview The firm is seeking a highly skilled Briefing Attorney with significant experience in wage and hour litigation, particularly under the FLSA and related state laws. This role focuses heavily on motion practice, legal research, and drafting in complex class and collective action matters.
Key Responsibilities
Draft complaints, dispositive motions (including summary judgment and class certification), opposition briefs, and trial briefs
Develop legal theories related to wage and hour violations, including off-the-clock work, misclassification, and overtime claims
Support discovery efforts, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and document requests
Analyze and summarize employee time and pay records
Conduct in-depth legal research on federal and state labor laws, procedural rules, and class action precedent
Evaluate commonality and typicality issues in preparation for certification hearings
Collaborate with litigation attorneys to support overall case strategy
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
5–10 years of litigation experience, with a focus on wage and hour matters preferred
Strong experience with high-volume motion practice, particularly in federal courts and appellate matters
Demonstrated knowledge of FLSA and state wage and hour laws, including class/collective actions
Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Proficiency with legal research tools and litigation software
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a broader legal team
