Consilio’s Direct Hire division is partnering with one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the world to identify a skilled IP Litigation Paralegal to join its Washington, DC office. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside top-tier attorneys on high-profile intellectual property matters within a globally recognized legal environment.
The Paralegal – IP Litigation will play a key role in supporting attorneys and senior paralegals across all phases of intellectual property litigation, with a strong focus on patent matters. This individual will assist with case management, discovery, filings, and trial preparation, contributing to complex and high-stakes litigation.
Key Responsibilities
Support case teams through all phases of IP litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial activities
Coordinate and assist with discovery processes, including document collection, review, analysis, and production using e-discovery platforms
Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, exhibits, and correspondence in accordance with court rules and deadlines
Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and coordinate with internal teams and external parties
Organize and manage case files, ensuring all materials are accurate, current, and easily accessible
Assist with trial preparation, including compiling exhibits, preparing binders, and coordinating logistics
Support ITC Section 337 investigations, including document review, discovery management, and trial support
Assist with PTAB filings, including petitions and responses, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements
Conduct research and extract relevant IP information from USPTO databases, Google Patents, and other resources
Perform cite checking, Bluebooking, and factual/legal verification for filings
Handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program (or equivalent certification)
Minimum of 4 years of paralegal experience within a law firm environment
At least 2 years of experience in intellectual property litigation, preferably focused on patent litigation
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Strong knowledge of federal and state court filing procedures and deadlines
Experience with ITC investigations (Section 337) and PTAB proceedings
Proficiency with e-discovery platforms and document management systems
Familiarity with patent terminology, citations, and USPTO processes
Experience with document production, exhibit preparation, and trial support
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
