Lawyers on Demand (LOD), a Consilio company, is assisting a fast-growing law firm in seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join its team on a long-term hybrid engagement in Phoenix.
Role Details
Start: ASAP
Duration: At least 6 months, with potential for extension
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Location: Hybrid – Phoenix, AZ
Compensation: $75/hour
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the civil litigation lifecycle for insurance defense matters
Take and defend depositions
Draft, propound, and respond to written discovery
Draft and argue dispositive and other substantive motions, including motions for summary judgment and motions in limine
Assist with case file review, litigation strategy, and overall case management
Support attorneys with trial preparation and, for candidates with relevant experience or interest, potentially participate in trials
Prepare accurate and compliant billing narratives consistent with insurance carrier requirements
Collaborate with attorneys and legal teams to develop effective defense strategies and advance matters toward resolution
Candidate Qualifications
2+ years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for experience in insurance defense litigation
Experience managing litigation from discovery through dispositive motion practice and trial preparation
Trial experience is not required, though candidates with trial experience or an interest in gaining courtroom experience may have opportunities to participate in trials
Demonstrated understanding of insurance defense billing practices, including the ability to prepare clear and acceptable billing narratives
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and case management skills
Active license to practice law in Arizona, in good standing, is required
Dual licensure in Arizona and New Mexico is highly preferred
