The Direct Hire Division of Consilio, LLC is working with a highly regarded firm that is seeking to hire a Legal Analyst Supervisor to join their DC office. This position is not with Consilio directly; it is a direct hire, permanent opportunity with the law firm.

Our client is a prestigious DC based boutique law firm that specializes in telecom, technology regulation, trial and appellate litigation, legal and governmental ethics, energy, privacy practices and more. About the role:

The Legal Analyst Supervisor is a Senior level paralegal who will be responsible for development of the Legal Analyst team, supervising and overseeing the Legal Analysts, which includes recruiting and onboarding new hires for the Firm’s 2-Year Legal Analyst Program; training and professional development coordination; managing employee performance; assessing Legal Analysts workload; supervising Legal Analyst team members regarding tasks and projects, and overseeing large-scale case staffing and support. The Legal Analyst Supervisor also serves as the primary point of contact for all Legal Analyst assignment matters; mentors Legal Analyst team members; and contributes to ongoing Firm projects and initiatives as part of the Firm Administrative management team. The Legal Analyst Supervisor will also provide senior level project management and paralegal expertise to complex billable matters and projects. This position may travel based on Firm needs and reports to the Human Resources Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

Administrative Leadership

• Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations, workload distribution, utilization, and long-range staffing plans for the Legal Analyst team.

• Manage Legal Analyst performance management process by establishing expectations, providing coaching and feedback, conducting evaluations, and addressing performance concerns.

• Partner with Human Resources to oversee Legal administrative responsibilities, including time entry, expense reports, attendance, leave requests, and overtime, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Firm policies.

• Collaborate with Human Resources on employment-related matters, including new hires, status changes, terminations, employee relations, policy implementation, and Legal Analyst initiatives.

• Consult with attorneys and legal professionals and the Human Resources Manager to ensure appropriate group assignment structure to support Firm and client needs.

 

Recruitment & Professional Development

• Lead and participate in the recruiting, interviewing, selection, onboarding, orientation, and training process for the Firm’s 2-Year Legal Analyst Program.

• Manage Legal Analyst performance management process by establishing expectations, providing coaching and feedback, conducting evaluations, and addressing performance concerns.

• Responsible for training, professional development, mentoring, and team building efforts for Legal Analysts.

 

Miscellaneous

• Perform billable legal work in support of client matters, as assigned

• Maintain proficiency in Firm software, systems, and procedures to support operational excellence

• Perform other related duties as assigned

 

About you:

Education and Experience:

Required

• Bachelor's degree

• Minimum of seven years of paralegal or related legal experience, including at least two years of leadership or team supervision experience

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and all levels of Firm personnel

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships

• Proven ability to solve problems, lead projects, manage competing priorities, communicate progress effectively, and consistently meet deadlines

• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills

• Thorough understanding of court rules, filing requirements, and electronic filing procedures, including Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) and Electronic Case Filing (ECF)

• Proficiency in legal research using LexisNexis, and other internet-based research tools

• Experience performing legal and factual cite checking, including Shepardizing, and Bluebook citation review

Work Schedule:

The Firm’s core hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The firm observes a hybrid work model with a minimum three-day in-office presence.

FLSA Status & Payroll: This is an exempt position and pay periods are semi-monthly (15th & 30th of each month).

 

Benefits: This position is eligible for the firm’s competitive group benefits package to include fully paid medical and vision benefits (for each employee). Coverage for dependents (spouse, child(ren), or domestic partner) will be offered on a cost-sharing basis. The Firm also offers dental, paid time off, short and long-term disability, long-term care, employer 4% 401(k) match, and 9% profit-sharing contribution.

 

Target Base Salary Range: $90,000 to $100,000 per year
