Lawyers on Demand (LOD), a Consilio company, is partnering with a national law firm specializing in commercial litigation and business disputes to identify a Senior Litigation Attorney to support the firm’s Jackson, Mississippi office on a contract basis.
Position Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 1-3 months, with potential extension
- Hours: 30-40 hours/week
- Location: Jackson, Mississippi
- Compensation: $75-95/hour (commensurate with experience)
Responsibilities
- The Senior Litigation Attorney will handle the full gamut of a litigation caseload in state and federal court in Mississippi.
- Draft complaints, answers, motions, and other pleadings.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Assist teams with preparation for trials and evidentiary hearings.
- Serve as a representative of clients and the firm while meeting and conferring with opposing counsel.
Qualifications
- Licensed attorney in good standing in Mississippi.
- At least 7 years of commercial litigation experience with the ability to comfortably run cases independently.
- Strong research and writing skills; can distill research into meaningful and persuasive written work product.
- Experience in real estate litigation, financial services litigation, or broad-based commercial litigation/business disputes.
