Lawyers on Demand (LOD), a Consilio company, is partnering with a Fortune 500 company to recruit an experienced Intellectual Property Counsel for a long-term, part-time remote engagement.
Position Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Long-term, indefinite contract
- Hours: Part-time, 20–30 hours/week
- Location: Fully remote
- Compensation: Starting at $100/hour (commensurate with experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Act as patent counsel, managing and coordinating with outside counsel and internal resources on patent-related matters
- Oversee and guide the company’s trademark and brand protection functions, working with a team of four trademark professionals handling clearances
- Manage the company’s global patent and trademark clearance processes to mitigate IP disputes
- Support the company’s litigation function on intellectual property matters (not direct litigation)
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of IP-related agreements, including:
- Trademark, copyright, and coexistence agreements
- Licensing and intellectual property transactional agreements
- Provide IP support on corporate transactions, including:
- Supply chain and sales agreements
- M&A due diligence and new acquisition integration
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure comprehensive protection and alignment of IP strategies
Candidate Requirements
- 6+ years of intellectual property law experience, including both law firm and in-house roles (preferred)
- Active U.S. bar license in good standing
- Strong experience in patent, trademark, and copyright law with demonstrated focus on transactional and licensing work
- Familiarity with supply chain and sales agreements from an IP perspective
- Experience conducting M&A IP due diligence and handling IP integration in acquisitions
- Mosaic experience is a plus
