Lawyers on Demand (LOD), a Consilio company, is partnering with a global production company to recruit an experienced In-House Intellectual Property Counsel. This is a part-time, long-term temporary opportunity supporting a dynamic in-house IP team.

Position Details
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: 3+ months, with potential to extend
  • Hours: 20 hours/week to start (potential to adjust based on business needs)
  • Location: Chicagoland area preferred
    • Remote candidates with exceptional experience will also be considered
  • Compensation: $100+/hour (commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities
  • Provide senior-level IP counsel to the company’s in-house legal team supporting high-volume, global brands
  • Manage patent filings, portfolio strategy, and trade secret counseling
  • Advise business leaders on IP strategy to support innovation, brand protection, and competitive advantage
  • Ensure compliance with IP best practices while providing practical, business-focused solutions
  • Integrate quickly into the team with minimal training, providing hands-on guidance across IP functions

Candidate Profile
  • 10+ years of experience as an intellectual property attorney, with significant in-house experience required
  • Strong background in the consumer-packaged goods industry highly preferred
  • Skilled in patent filings, portfolio management, and trade secret counseling
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment with agility, creativity, and efficiency
  • Active U.S. bar license in good standing
